Important Safety Information for Electrowave Explosion Proof Ultrasonic Cleaners

Electrowave explosion proof ultrasonic cleaners are designed to be used with flammable solvents. During normal operation, solvent vapor will be formed. Electrowave explosion proof ultrasonic cleaners are manufactured to operate safely in an environment with flammable, volatile vapors. Electronics are sealed with polymer foam encapsulation to prevent solvent vapor from contacting internal electronic components. The units are shipped with a standard plug which must be removed and replaced with an explosion proof plug to match the explosion proof receptacle in the customer’s facility; alternatively the unit can be hard wired into the electrical system.

Normal use of this equipment creates solvent vapor, and therefore the area of use is classified by the National Electrical Code (NEC) as Class I Division 1. Class I Division 1 is defined as an area where, under normal conditions, there are flammable gases or vapors in the air which could be ignited if an electrical or other source of ignition is present.

It is the responsibility of the customer to be aware of national and local regulations regarding Class I Division 1 areas so that personnel can use this equipment safely.
